8Q is the new experimental wing of the Singapore Art Museum. ohplay was commissioned to develop an extensive set of print materials for its launch event and art exhibition. The concept of the event was “School” as 8Q was formerly and old school compound.
The Botanic Gardens Conservation Institute (BCGI) from the UK approached us to design a poster aimed to increase natural awareness. The poster should target children and adults alike. The poster had to be translated into 10 different languages and placed in various institutions from China to Papua New Guinea. No plants were harmed during the shoot.
Club night flyers are a great creative outlet and we highly recommend creating your own parties just to design the flyers.
Award winning Singaporean composer, Nigel Woodford, challenged us with the task of developing an identity for his record label. His brief to us was to “keep it surreal”. Sound we represent, in speech bubbles, talking machines it is.

We were briefed by a church to come up with a rather interesting approach for some flyers and posters to inform a younger target audience about Good Friday mass. After a minor struggle to sell the idea… they bought it!
